Alliance Chat — Privacy Policy

Alliance Chat (alliancechat.space) is a social platform for adults 18 and older. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information.

1. Information you give us

• Account details: username, email address, date of birth, your legal first and last name (private — never shown on your profile; used only by our team to verify your identity if you need help with your account), and your password (stored only in scrambled, hashed form — we can never see it).
• Profile and content: anything you add to your profile, and the posts, comments, photos, videos, messages, listings, reviews, and playlists you create.
• Business and payment details: if you pay for business advertising, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of your subscription status, but we never see or store your full card number.
• Location: on Marketplace, you can let your browser detect your location, or type a city/zip, so you see nearby listings first and so your own listings show an approximate location to buyers. This is optional, not saved to your account, and not used anywhere else on the platform.
• Profile details: you can optionally add a hometown, what you're here for, orientation, and body type to your profile, and choose to show your birthday (month and day only, never the year). All of these are entirely optional, blank unless you fill them in, and visible only to the extent your profile itself is \u2014 nothing here is required to use Alliance Chat.

2. Information collected automatically

• Security logs: when you log in, log out, or change account security settings, we record the time, IP address, and browser type to protect your account and investigate misuse.
• Search activity: searches made on the site are logged to improve search and spot abuse.
• Profile views: profile owners can see which logged-in members viewed their profile.
• Cookies: we use a single login cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

3. How we use your information

• To run the platform: show your content to the people you share it with, deliver messages and notifications.
• To keep it safe: verify email addresses, enforce the 18+ rule and Community Guidelines, and investigate reports.
• To process business advertising subscriptions through Stripe.
• To send account emails such as email verification and password resets.

4. Who we share it with

Only the service providers needed to run Alliance Chat, and only what they need:

• DigitalOcean — hosts our servers and stores site data.
• Stripe — processes payments for business advertising.
• Resend — delivers account emails.
• OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) — converts a typed city/zip or detected coordinates into map coordinates for Marketplace's nearby-listings feature. Only the location itself is sent, never your name, email, or any other account info.

We may also disclose information when legally required, such as in response to a valid court order or subpoena.

5. Your choices and rights

• Download your data: export everything stored about your account anytime from your profile settings.
• Private account: make your account private so only approved followers see your content.
• Legacy contact: choose someone to look after your profile if something happens to you.

6. Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your Alliance Chat account yourself, at any time, directly in the app:

1. Log in to your Alliance Chat account.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Scroll down to Delete my account and click it.
4. Re-enter your password to confirm, then confirm the warning prompt.

Your account is deleted immediately — there is no waiting period and no way to undo it or recover the account afterward. This permanently erases: your profile and login information (username, email, password, legal name, date of birth), your posts, comments, reactions, and replies, your direct messages, your gallery photos and albums, your marketplace listings and articles, your stories, mixes, lists, favorites, and your follows, blocks, and mutes.

What isn't deleted: if you created a shared group, page, poll, or marketplace place that other members still rely on, that object stays up for those members — only your personal connection to it (your membership, vote, or review) is removed, and it's no longer linked to your profile in any visible way. Deleted data may also persist briefly in our routine nightly site backups until those backups roll over; we don't currently commit to a fixed backup retention window, and backups are never used to bring a deleted account back.

7. Deleting individual content without deleting your account

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove something specific. At any time, directly in the app, you can permanently delete:

• Any post, comment, or reaction you made
• Any photo or album in your gallery
• Marketplace listings and articles you've posted
• Entries on your profile, such as work history, education, "vibes," and shoutouts

This content is removed immediately and permanently, subject to the same brief nightly-backup note above.

8. Data security

All traffic to Alliance Chat is encrypted with HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and the site is backed up nightly. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

9. Age requirement

Alliance Chat is only for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we remove accounts we learn belong to minors.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and let members know on the site.
